We had another busy week in Kindergarten! Here is our bulletin board that the students have been working on. We made our memory quilt, each child decorated a card with their name, our hand print flower and our saying, "We came as strangers, we leave as friends." They did a great job!
One of the boy scouts troop leaders came to talk to the boys about boy scouts.
For our countdown this week, we did letters H-D. For H day, we learned how to say hello in many different languages!
For H day we talked about what they wanted to be when they grew up. These pictures will be in their portfolios!
For F day, we free drew!
I forgot to get any pictures of our E day but we did different exercises.
For the letter D, we had a dance party!
We did many things to get to ready for our Poetry Cafe this week! The students made invitations to take home to their families.
They decorated letters and a sign to hang up at our Poetry Cafe.
Mrs. Vogt brought in popsicles as a surprise to say Thank You for being great reading buddies to her preschool class. The students loved them!
We also went to a presentation from Mrs. Addington's class about worms. They shared with us their bulletin board that they made of facts they learned about them, read us books they created about them, and even got to see real worms!
Since Mrs. Ball & Mrs. Arnold were done testing all of the students reading levels, we started up literacy lab again this week. We read 6 books from the Laura Numeroff series, "If You Give A....". The students completed different activities related to the book they read each day. Below are pictures from the students making their pig puppet.
Here are some pictures from our Poetry Cafe. The brochures I passed out, the sign the students made, and the students getting ready for the show to begin. There is also a picture of my grandma and I, she was nice enough to come help out for the afternoon.
We had a great crowd, thank you to everyone who was able to make it and support us!
The students all did a great job, I was so proud of them all!
After the show, the students shared their poetry journals with their families and friends.
Even Dr. Clifford & Mrs. Hall stopped by to listen and see what the students have been working on!
Next, I passed out the end of the year awards to each student.
Finally, I shared the end of the year video with everyone. I hope you all enjoyed the hard work I put into it! For those of you who weren't able to make it, I will be making a copy of the video for you all as an end of the year gift so you and your child can treasure the memories we made together this year!
Thanks for stopping by! Check back next week to see what we were up to on our FINAL short week of school. I can't believe the school year is almost over!
