Countdown S-W, Poetry Cafe, and More!

We had another busy week here in Kindergarten! We did our alphabet countdown letters S-W, had our Poetry Cafe and began watching the James and the Giant Peach movie.
Take a look below for more details!

For the letter S, we celebrated our friends who have summer birthdays!
On Tuesday for letter T, we wrote Thank You Notes to people who have helped us this year. First we made a list of those teachers who have helped us this year. Each student wrote 2 notes and when we delivered them to the teachers, they were so grateful!
Jade said: "Dear Ms.Riggs, Thank you for doing calendar with us and helping us read."
Amaiya said: "Dear Mrs. Learner, Thank you for helping us tye dye. Thank you for clay owls. Thank you for self portrait."
Janah said: "Dear Mr. Doyle, thank you for teaching us. I like your games."
Teah said: "Dear Mrs. Kinton, thank you for helping the school."
Amaiya said: "Dear Mrs.Vogt, thank you for bringing your class to our class. Thank you for helping Jackson listen."
Gracie said: "Dear Mr. Whitacre, thank you for keeping us calm when there is a fire drill."
Merylin said: "Dear Mr.Whitacre, thank you for saving us we really like it."
Wednesday was USA day and to celebrate the letter U, we wore red, white, and blue.
Thursday was our letter V day and we went on an imaginary vacation. We pretended like we were on the beach and wrote about it.
Jade said "I am at the beach. I like playing in the sand."
Thursday we practiced our Poetry Cafe for Ms. Riggs class in order to be ready for Friday!
I also showed the students our end of the year video. A couple students cried, I will miss them!
Friday for the letter W, we dressed fancy!
My grandma came on Friday to help with our Poetry Cafe! Most of you saw her passing out brochures but she also took pictures during the Poetry Cafe, awards, and video.
They couldn't wait to share their poems with their families!
We started with our Poetry Cafe and the students got up and read their poems in front of their families. They all did such a great job!
Afterwards, students shared all of their poems from their poetry journal with their families.
Then I gave each student an animal themed award.
Finally, I shared our end of the year video to everyone. I will be making a copy of the video for all the students as an end of the year gift. I will be sending those home this week so be looking for those!
Bryson in Mrs. Addington's class received an award this week for being chosen as the asset builder of the month for the district.
We also finished reading the book and started watching the movie for James and the Giant Peach.
Thanks for checking in. I can't believe we only have 3 days of school left!
Check back next week to see what we are up to the last week of school!
