We had so much fun the first days of school! We read the book “The Kissing Hand” which talks about being homesick and how the kissing hand can help you to feel better. The students also learned how to sign ‘I love you’ from the book.
We also read the book “Have you filled a bucket today” which talks about how to be a “bucket filler” by being nice to others by using kind hands, words, etc. The students learned how to use the turn tables on their desks appropriately and were able to color their own bucket after reading the book.
The students also played with some of the materials in our classroom throughout the day!
We took a tour of the school and learned how to show Pax throughout the school and to be safe, responsible, and respectful in different areas of the school and our classroom. We also went outside for recess and got to explore the different areas on our playground!
We went down to the cafeteria where Mrs. Schieman (our Prinicpal) and Mr. Doyle (our P.E. teacher) taught us how to be responsible in the lunchroom and we practiced cleaning up and leaving from lunch.
The students also learned the song “Boom Chicka Boom” and enjoyed dancing along to it!
We all had a great first days of school! I am so excited to get to know your children and watching them learn and grow throughout the first half of this year!
Important Reminders:
Friday, August 30th is a QPT day and we do not have school!
