We had another great week in Kindergarten! Take a look below for more details on our exciting week.
Our Journey's focus wall for the week
The students wrote and drew a picture about what they wanted for Christmas.
Their papers will go in their portfolios.
Here are a couple of their answers.
We have also been practicing breaking words into syllables.
We worked to break some Christmas words into syllables as well.
In Literacy Lab this week, students worked hard on some fun holiday activities. They made movable gingerbread men and a Santa, made a Christmas book, and other holiday worksheets. They loved it!
Students have also been working very hard to make their Christmas presents for their families. We will finish them and send them home this week. Here is a sneak peek!
We also did an activity with the story The Mitten. The students glued a mitten on a paper bag and cut out all the animals from the story. Then they put the animals inside as we listened to it.
Have your child retell the story to you at home!
We also did a gingerbread color by number where students had to read the color words, match the number and color it the appropriate color.
We read a holiday story, "My Christmas Lights Book"together. Then students colored the pages the correct color to match the words.
Since we finished reading the book Charlotte's Web, we watched the movie on Friday. We discussed what was the same and what was different between the book and movie.
This week we also read some holiday and Christmas books.
I also sent home a letter that discussed what we were doing in Journey's for the week.
Thanks for stopping by. Check back next week for details on another busy and fun week!
Have a great week.
Mrs. Brittany Garrabrant
