We had an awesome week this week. Take a look below for more details on our week!
We worked hard in our Reader's Notebooks this week and finished our first one. At the end of our notebook there were orange pages that the students could use to make flash cards so they took those home as well. Next week we will be starting unit 4 and beginning a new Reader's Notebook.
We started working on a 100 Day writing book as well. Take a look below at some of their answers to some of the pages! We will finish it this week so they can take it home before our 100th Day of School!
Mrs. Boxley came on Tuesday to help the students make fruit loop necklaces to wear on our 100th Day of School as well!
During workstations, I worked with a group of students on a January practice page for various skills.
We had an assembly to review our 3 school "Bee" rules. (Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be Responsible)
We discussed what they each meant, how we can show them and celebrated being PAX Leaders.
Today (Sunday, February 2nd) is Groundhog's Day so to prepare, this week we read fiction books and also read a sight word reader book together.
We also reviewed our classroom expectations this week and made a class promise. We discussed how we can demonstrate our 3 B rules and everyone signed their name to say that we will all be PAX Leaders in our classroom and school.
We also reviewed our voice levels and made a chart to remind us!
I gave the students a goal this week to pass 85 iReady lessons and they wanted to work towards earning a Show & Tell. They met and passed their goal and they were so proud! So we will be having a Show & Tell this coming Thursday, I will be sending a paper home tomorrow about it.
Important papers sent home this week:
February Reading Log & Homework for the month.
Students collect 100 items and bring them in tomorrow. We will be sharing them this week.
Students can dress up like they are 100 years old on Friday for the 100th Day of School, I will be dressing up as well!
We are looking for volunteers this coming Friday to help with our 100th Day of School. If you are able to come help, please send this form back to school as soon as you can.
Thanks for stopping by. Have a great week!
Mrs. Brittany Garrabrant
