This week was definitely a crazy one! We started with Daylight Savings Time and a full moon. Then we ended with schools closing for the next 3 weeks and Friday the 13th! I hope to have more answers for you soon about what is next for us and I hope to see your students very soon!
**Tomorrow we are going to finish working on putting together packets of work for your students to be doing during this time at home. Check the District's Facebook page or website for the most up to date information. I will also do another blog post in the next few days with some updates and resources to share with you as well.
In the meantime, take a look below for details on our week.
Our Journey's Focus Wall for the week.
Journey's Home Letter & Sight Words for the week.
In Literacy Lab, we worked very hard! Students worked on their iReady lessons.
Mrs. Coberly also worked with students to practice reading simple books.
I worked with groups on practicing reading basic books and answering questions about what we read.
We also worked on a March math and literacy paper.
We worked in our Reader's Notebook to practice sight words, the letter Oo sounds, and pronouns.
Students also worked on academic and behavioral self-evaluations for conferences. Since they have been postponed, I will hold onto these until we meet and share them with you at that time.
With St. Patrick's Day around the corner, students wrote about what they would do if they found a pot of gold. Some of their answers were so funny, below are a few examples!
We also enjoyed getting to play outside since the weather was nicer!
We started to read our new chapter book Stuart Little.
Students met their 2 week iReady goal and when we return to school we will be enjoying some lemonade to celebrate! That is what they chose as their reward.
Thanks for stopping by. I will be in touch a lot over the next couple of weeks. Please let me know if you need anything at all and keep in touch! I hope this all passes quickly and I get to see your children very soon!
Mrs. Brittany Garrabrant
