It was another fun, busy week here in Kindergarten! We worked on our Journeys curriculum, completed our math iReady diagnostic, and did the letters I-M in our End of the Year Alphabet Countdown. We celebrated our hard work with Fun Friday in Literacy Lab, worked on living/non-living things, had our Spring Family Scavenger Hunt & more.
Take a look below for more details on our exciting week!
Our Journeys Focus Wall for the week.
Students worked hard in their Reader's Notebook on practicing our sight words for the week.
We also reviewed the letters L & W and their sounds.
Students have worked so hard on iReady this year and they finished this week by completing their end of the year math diagnostic test. Everyone took their time, did their best, and made awesome progress! I am so proud of them!
For our End of the Year Alphabet Countdown this week, we enjoyed Ice Pops on Monday for the letter I day.
On Tuesday, we celebrated J day by wearing jerseys or team shirts.
On Wednesday, we enjoyed Kool-Aid to celebrate letter K Day.
To celebrate letter L day, we went around the school with Miss S's class to pick up litter. Students worked in pairs, one student had a glove to pick up trash with and the other student had a bag to collect it in. The students really enjoyed helping to clean up around the school!
Friday we celebrated letter M by watching a movie. Thank you to everyone who brought a movie in. The students voted and they picked Bee Movie to watch!
The students have worked so hard the last couple of weeks on iReady and to celebrate their achievements, we had a Fun Friday in Literacy Lab. Mrs. Ball had various activities that we have worked on throughout the year for students to complete and they loved it!
Then we watched a Pete the Cat video.
We also worked on sorting living and non-living things.
We won the cafeteria trophy this week so Mrs. Oda's class came to deliver it to us!
On Saturday we had our Spring Family Scavenger Hunt and it was fun but HOT! I brought along my husband and dogs as well and we had a great time. Thanks to everyone who joined us!
We saw a huge butterfly in the butterfly house!
Then went to the top of the tree tower.
After the hike, the kids enjoyed exploring the maze.
Important papers sent home this week:
RSVP for our Poetry Cafe. Please let me know as soon as you know how many adults will be attending our Poetry Cafe so I can make sure we have enough seats. Our Poetry Cafe, end of the year awards, and video will be our end of the year celebration and I can't wait for you all to see it!
Journey's Home Letter & Sight Words for the Week
Thanks for checking in this week. Stop back next week to see what fun things we are up to next!
Have a great week!
