We had a fun and busy week in Kindergarten! We continued to work hard on our Journey's curriculum, did some fun activities in Literacy Lab, and continued our Alphabet countdown N-R. We also said goodbye to one of our friends on his last day, practiced writing our numbers, and started working on a book for Father's Day. We made our last bulletin board of the year, enjoyed popsicles, watched Stuart Little, and students got their free book of the month.

Our Journey's focus wall for the week.
Mrs. Ball planned lots of fun activities with the "If You Give" book series. I forgot to take pictures every day but I got two of the days. Students listened to If You Give a Pig a Party and then made their own pig puppet.
Students also listened to If You Give a Cat a Cupcake and then decorated their own cupcake.
We continued our alphabet countdown this week with the letters N-R. Monday, for the letter N, we gave ourselves new names for the day. We had so much fun! I was Taylor Swift for the day, take a look below to see what the kids chose.
Some students chose names from movies or characters.
Some students chose names from TV shows or other characters.
Other students chose names from people they know.
Or just made a new name up!
Tuesday for the letter O, we wore orange.
We had a popcorn part for the letter P and we invited our Preschool Reading Buddies to join us. It was the Preschoolers last week of school so the Kindergarten students drew a picture for their reading buddy to say thank you for working with us this year and goodbye.
For the letter Q, students drew their favorite memories from the year and we made them into a memory quilt.
Friday was letter R day and students read a book outside on the playground.
Friday was our friend Samih's last day so the students made him cards to say good bye and have a good summer. We made a list of things they wanted to say to him so they could include them on their cards to him.
The students enjoyed giving their cards to Samih and giving him a hug!
Students also worked hard practicing writing their numbers.
Students started working on making a Father's Day book about their dads.
We also made our last bulletin board for the year. Students traced, cut out and decorated their hand print. Then we put them up on our bulletin board along with the saying, "We came as strangers, we leave as friends." It turned out awesome!
Since it was so hot on Friday, students enjoyed popsicles outside!
We finished reading our chapter book Stuart Little so we watched the movie Stuart Little 2.
Students received their last free book of the year!
