We had a fun and busy week full of lots of learning! Take a look below for more details on our week.
Here is our focus wall for the week!
We worked on addition and practiced all week, the students are getting so good!
We reviewed the 4 letters and letter sounds that we have worked on over the last 4 lessons; Ii, Gg, Rr, Dd.
We also practiced our sight words! We did our Reader's Notebook pages, read sight words books, and completed papers to practice the sight words.
For writing this week, we learned about different animals and wrote facts that we learned about them.
The kids really enjoyed learning about the different animals and did a great job with their writing!
Below are a few examples.
Cash wrote, "Polar bears like to play. The polar bears are wrestling."
Olivia wrote, "There are all kinds of sharks!"
We worked hard in Literacy Lab like always!
Students worked with me on practicing blends, guided reading, and basic story comprehension.
Students worked independently to practice sight words.
Of course they worked hard on their iReady lessons as always!
Mrs. Ball worked with them to practice letters, letter sounds, and rhyming.
This week I worked with students to start assessing them for 3rd quarter. They wrote their numbers and I worked with them on ESGI on the computer to see what they know.
I didn't get any pictures working with them on the computer!
We also had our spring picture day!
Mrs. Phillip came and did a lesson with the class on communication and being a good listener.
We started some new workstations this week. Here are a few of them.
Making word family snowmen,
Listening to Green Eggs & Ham book on CD and then drawing a picture of their favorite part.
Sorting nonsense words and real words,
Looking around the room for animal cards and writing the letter that each animal ends with.
Shamrock Addition Bingo,
Addition Shamrock Search
Filling in numbers in the hundreds chart,
Surveying classmates on how old they are and completing the survey.
We finished our chapter book 101 Dalmatians this week so we watched the movie to compare the two.
The kids loved this one!
We really enjoyed getting to play outside this week!
Important papers sent home:
Friday's virtual work packet &
March reading log- color a shamrock each time you read or are read to for 15 minutes. Bring the completed paper, signed by an adult to choose a prize from the treasure box.
Thanks for checking in. Stop back next week to see what we are up to next!
