Mrs. Garrabrant
Hello everyone, my name is Mrs. Brittany Garrabrant and I am excited for another great school year! I am looking forward to getting to know you, your children, and your families throughout the school year. I hope to make your child's learning experience a fun and exciting one, and instill a love of learning that will last throughout your child's educational career. I really enjoy teaching here at Walter Shade Early Childhood Center and I know your children will love it just as much as I do. This will be my eighth year with my own classroom but ninth year at the ECC as I was an assistant the year before.
I graduated from Bowling Green State University in 2011 with my Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education. I also received my Master's Degree in Literacy from the University of Dayton in 2015. I grew up in Kettering where I was a cheerleader for most of my life. Now I currently live in Miamisburg with my husband, Micah. We have been married for 9 years and have a 2 year old son named Owen. He was born 5 weeks premature at 4lbs 7 oz and had to spend 2 weeks in the NICU but he is our little miracle. We also have two black lab dogs, Malli and Natty, who are 9 years old. They are great dogs and good big sisters to Owen!
Malli has the pink collar. When we first got them Natty had a green collar but was often mistaken for a boy so we switched it to red.
Family is very important to me and I talk about them to my students a lot! You will definitely be hearing a lot about my mom (Ms.. Solich) throughout the school year as she volunteers in my classroom often.
