We had an awesome week here in Kindergarten! Take a look below for more details on the fun!
Our class won the art trophy this week!
The students also received their February Scholastic book of the month to take home and they were so excited!
We continued to read our chapter book: Stuart Little.
We celebrated Valentine's Day on Monday. Students passed out Valentines to all of their friends and they really enjoyed it. A few students passed them out at a time while the rest participated in some fun Valentine themed activities.
We also read some Valentine's Day books.
Students also finished writing in their Valentine book and took them home.
We played another sight word spinner game. Our sight word 'saw' won!
We reviewed the letters Gg, Hh, Ii & Jj.
We learned the sight words: all, good, say.
As always, we worked hard in Literacy Lab this week. Students worked hard on their iReady lessons.
Mrs. Ball worked with students on beginning sounds, guided reading, and rhyming words.
Students worked independently on finding sight words in guided reading books, CVC word puzzles, short vowels, and writing sentences using sight words.
For our math lessons this week, we finished our 3-D shapes unit and began working on addition activities. We will start our math unit for addition next week.
Mrs. Phillip came and did a lesson with the class on our bodies and things we can do to take care of them to help keep us from getting sick or get better.
We loved getting to play outside this week!
The students were so close to meeting their goal and we ended up having a fire drill during our Literacy Lab time which took time away so they will still be earning their reward of another art party next week!
On Friday, teachers go to take a tour of our new building and it was so exciting! I told the students that I would show them the pictures I took and they couldn't wait to see it all! So exciting! I also included a picture of what our new playground is going to look like, it hasn't been started yet.
Crazy sock day tomorrow 2/22!
