On Saturday we had our Family Scavenger Hunt at Cox Arboretum. It was a beautiful day and everyone had so much fun spending time with their classmates, families, and teachers. It was so nice to see you all. Thank you for coming! While we were waiting for everyone to arrive, the students enjoyed looking at the animals in the pond. We found geese, turtles, and fish.
We talked about the scavenger hunt and what we would be looking for before we began.
Here is our class along with Mrs. Hannigan's class right before we started our scavenger hunt!
We found so many beautiful things in nature on our hike. Below is a spider web on a tree as well as some type of animal track. Our guess was a deer track!
We hiked to the top of the observation tree house. The students were amazed by the beautiful view!
Carson enjoyed looking at "the city" from the top of the tree house. He said "we can see the whole city".
The weather was absolutely perfect and we had the best view from the top. Below you could see some of the parents waiting for us to come back down.
We found holes in trees, and a bird's nest as well.
The children were excited to find symbols carved on a tree and they were trying to figure out what they all meant. Brady found a nut too!
The kids were excited to find a frog!
We found a creek and were able to listen to the running water.
The trail ended up at the hedge maze and the students were able to chase each other and get out all of their energy. I bet they were all exhausted the rest of the day!
Thank you again to everyone who was able to come! We all had a great time.
Thanks for stopping by!
Thank you for taking the time outside of school and putting this together for the kids I'm sure each And everyone of them enjoyed themselves!
