We had such a fun week this week! Take a look below for more details on our fun.
This week, we learned the sight words: go, so, look, want.
We also worked on the letters Mm, Dd, Gg this week as well.
We learned about our friend Bentley and now we have learned about all of our friends!
In Literacy Lab, we worked very hard this week!
Students worked with me to practice our letters this week (Mm, Dd & Gg).
Mrs. Ball worked with students to practice our letters as well as review the letters we worked on last week.
Ms. Stewart worked with the students on a fall color book.
They worked hard on their iReady lessons too!
I gave them a goal to pass 75 lessons this week and they passed 85 so they earned extra recess!
For our math lessons, we began working on our shapes.
We also learned the color purple and the students earned their purple book.
We also worked on the October part of their portfolio books.
We had so much fun taking the insides out of our pumpkin! They liked getting to feel the guts and we sorted out the seeds. We each guessed how many seeds we thought were going to be in our pumpkin and then we counted them!
There were 445 seeds in our pumpkin!
I took them home and cooked them. Then I brought them back to school and the students got to taste them. Some liked them and some did not!
We did some investigating with our pumpkin as well. We weighed it, measured it, and tested to see if it sank or floated. We filled out an investigation paper together.
Then I brought in baby pumpkins for the students to paint, they loved it!
Ms. Stewart did a directed drawing of a pumpkin with the students.
We hung them up on our bulletin board outside our classroom for you to see during conferences.
Then students turned their orange plate from our color mixing experiment into a jack-o-lantern.
We also hung them up on our bulletin board.
Thursday night was our homecoming parade and we had a fun time!
My son Owen was loving the marching band music behind us!
Sent home this week was a paper with some fun events happening around the city as well as an order form for an ECC t-shirt if you would like to order one.
Thanks for stopping by to see what we are up to.
Have a great week!
Mrs. Brittany Garrabrant
