We had another fun week in Kindergarten full of learning! Check out the details below to see more.
Our class won the restroom trophy this week.
The students were so excited to get to hang it up outside our classroom all week!
We had picture day.
We learned about 5 new friends; Brooklyn, Stevie, Jaylah, Brantley, and Gabriel
We practiced counting and recognizing numbers 0-10 as well as learning about greater than and less than.
We learned about squares this week.
We also learned about the sight words: like, see, for and play. We read books with each sight word, watched videos to practice them, and did interactive worksheets as well.
Sight word: 'like'
Sight word: 'see'
Sight word: 'for'
Sight word: 'play'
We also learned how to spell the color word 'green'.
The students loved reading their book along with the song!
Since we learned the color green, we had to do a fun science experiment: magic lemonade!
Ms. Riggs class came over to join us for our fun experiment. Students started with yellow lemonade and a blue ice cube. We counted down and dropped our ice cubes in together, it made green lemonade! Then they got to drink it of course, yummy!
Before our experiment, students predicted what color they thought it was going to turn, some of them were correct too! They really enjoyed this experiment!
We also started reading the chapter book Charlotte's Web together as a class. We will read a chapter every day. So far the students have really enjoyed listening to it!
On Friday, a former student of mine who is homeschooled this year came back to visit and read to the class. They enjoyed listening to him read and they were awesome listeners!
I was able to raise money through Scholastic this summer in order for every student to be able to get to take a book home every month. They got to choose from 3 options this month.
They were so excited to take their books home and read them!
Your child brought home information and packets for our school fundraiser. There are prizes for selling different amounts. They are due back on Tuesday, October 5th. Happy selling!
