We had so much fun this week! Take a look below to find out more about what we worked on this week.
Our class earned the cafeteria trophy this week!
We worked on the letters: Ss & Ii this week.
We also learned the sight words: come, said, saw.
In Literacy Lab, students worked with Ms. Stewart and I on different activities to practice our letters of the week: Ss & Ii. We read letter books, did picture sorts, upper and lowercase letter sorts, and read fall books with color words.
Students worked independently to sort letters & numbers, upper & lowercase letter sorts, and reviewed the letters Pp and Nn.
They also worked hard on their iReady lessons as well!
Students worked with Mrs. Ball to practice reading letter books and matching lowercase letters to their uppercase match.
For our math lessons, we practiced our 2-D shapes (circle, square, rectangle, triangle, and hexagon), using shapes to make patterns, and position words.
We also started doing our fun Halloween themed workstations this week. Here are the math workstations working on counting 1-to-1, using tens frames to show numbers, matching numbers to the matching dots, measuring using pumpkins, making patterns, and matching shapes.
For the literacy ones, students matched letters, practiced sight words, reviewed letters, and matched upper and lowercase letters.
We also read a book about the pumpkin life cycle, and then put the steps in the right order.
Then we did a pumpkin counting book together.
We worked on the color white this week and students earned their book that goes along with the song.
We did another fun color mixing experiment with Miss Riggs class on Friday! Students got a small ball of red homemade play dough and another small one that was blue.
First students predicted what color they thought it was going to turn when they mixed it together.
Then they mixed the two balls of play dough together to make...... PURPLE! Then they got to take it home. They loved it!
We also finished reading our book Charlotte's Web so we watched the movie.
The students really enjoyed it!
This week we sent home a reminder for picture retake day coming in a few weeks.
Spirit week this week:
Thanks for stopping by to see what fun things we are up to! Have a great week!
