We had another busy and fun week here in Kindergarten! Check out below to find out more details about what we worked on.
Students worked on Chromebook computers in the program iReady to show us what they know. They took an assessment called a diagnostic in math and reading which they will take again 2 more times this year in order for us to see how much they grow. After they completed this assessment, the program placed each student into lessons based ability levels in various areas.
So far they have enjoyed working on iReady, the lessons are fun and engaging for them!
We also did a fun activity where students made name caterpillars.
This week we learned the letters T &P. We practiced recognizing each letter, writing them, and talked about things that start with that letter sound.
We also learned the sight word 'to'.
Four more friends shared their treasure blocks and talked about themselves.
Then we drew pictures of them for their all about me book.
We continued to work on recognizing and counting numbers 0-10 for our math lessons.
We also learned how to spell the color word yellow.
We practiced reading our book along with the yellow color song.
You can keep practicing reading the book at home too!
Of course we enjoyed playing outside also!
Ms. Stewart sent home a student release form. This is so she can include the children in her lessons for her classes to help her become a teacher. If you haven't already, please sign it and send it back to school. Thank you for helping her!
Information about our field trip was sent home as well.
Thanks for checking in. Come back to see what we are up to next!
Have a great week!
Mrs. Brittany Garrabrant
