We had such a fun week full of learning and excitement! Take a look below for more details.
Our spirit week started with crazy sock day!
Then pajama day!
Hat Day
Team Jersey Day
Costume Day
Some of the Kindergarten teachers dressed up like the Incredibles.
We read the story Leaf Man, went on a leaf hunt, then used our leaves to make beautiful creations.
We worked on the letter Hh this week.
For our math lessons this week, we reviewed our shapes this week as well as position words.
The students didn't have any math homework this week except for Friday.
I sent home a review page for shapes.
We also worked on the sight word 'be'.
We played a sight word spinner game with some of the words that have been the trickiest for us! Students came up one at a time to spin our spinner. Then, students colored the sight word in that it landed on. The students really enjoyed it and had so much fun!
We did a writing activity where students created a monster and wrote about it.
We made Frankenpudding! We drew a face, mixed in food coloring, crumbled cookies for the hair, then ate it! Then students sequenced the steps and we wrote about it together.
We also worked on a fall color word book.
In Literacy Lab, students worked with me to practice the letters Hh & Bb by reading books, doing letter sorts, and beginning sound sorts.
Students worked with me to practice reading and reviewing letter Mm.
They also worked hard on their iReady lessons.
I forgot to take a picture but we did not meet our iReady lesson goal this week, they were so close!
Students worked independently on letter sorts, finding sight words in books, and picture sorts.
For Fun Friday in Literacy Lab, students read the story 'There is a Monster in my Closet" and created their own monster in a closet.
Since conferences are coming up, students practiced sharing their portfolios with each other so they would be ready to share them with you all!
We also learned the color word black this week!
On Friday we did a fun math activity with Cheetos Bag of Bones. Students sorted them by shape, graphed how many they had and they go to eat them!
On Friday we also enjoyed a costume parade. In the morning, we watched other students march in the parade and loved seeing all of the different costumes!
We also had a fire drill to practice.
Coming home this week was our November Reading Log & Homework.
Information about our 50th Day of School.
We need your help with our next fundraiser!
This is a November Thankfulness Challenge from our Social/Emotional Learning Coordinator if you would like to participate.
Thanks for checking in. Stop back next week to see what other fun things we are up to!
Have a great week!
Mrs. Brittany Garrabrant
