Last Week of School & Field Day!

I can't believe the year is over. We had a busy last week of school! We finished our End of the year Alphabet Countdown, made a book for our dads, played castle crushers, planted sunflowers, and had field day. Take a look below to see more details about our fun end to the year!

For letter X, we had eXtra recess.

On letter Y day, we wore yellow and had an end of the year auction.

I laid out everything we made throughout the year and the students got to pick a couple of things to take home and keep!

The last day of school was letter Z and we zipped up and zoomed out for the summer!

I hope you all enjoyed your End of the Year Video I made for you! Your child can watch it and remember the wonderful year we had together.
Father's Day is over the summer so we made a book for our dads or grandpas.
Our P.E. teacher, Mr. Doyle had a castle crushers tournament. Our class played against Miss Riggs' class and they had so much fun!
We also planted sunflowers in our garden box for the class next year to be able to enjoy. The kids helped till the soil, plant the seeds, and water them as well.
Mrs. Myers has a pet turtle named Steven and she brought him in to share with the students.
They loved watching him!
Mr. Whitacre taught the students a Peanut Butter & Jelly song during lunch and they wanted to share it with all the teachers. It was so cute!
The last day of school was FIELD DAY! We had such a great day and it was a wonderful end to the school year.
One of the stations was the Sharks & Minnows game.
Relay Races
Crazy Relay Races
(holding the ball between your legs, behind your back, and between your back and a friends back)
"What Time is it Mr. Fox?" game
Sponge Relay Race

Sponge Toss
We enjoyed popsicles & popcorn as a snack outside.
Hide the Key game.

At the end of our last day, we watched our End of the Year Video again and it made almost all of the students cry!
As we were walking to the buses, they were sobbing and other teachers were asking me what I did to make them all cry. It was very sweet and it makes me miss them even more!
I had a wonderful year getting to know your children and working with them! I will miss them all so much and I hope you will come back to visit me.

Have a wonderful summer and good luck in First Grade!
