CVC Work, Sight Words & More!

We had such a fun week full of learning! Take a look below for more details.

Here is our Focus Wall for the week.
Our class won the Library/Computer Lab trophy this week, they were so excited!
We worked hard in our Reader's Notebook on the letter Ii sound this week.
Read a letter Ii book too.
We also worked very hard this week on CVC words and sounding out words, we are getting so good at it!
We also worked on our sight words for the week!
We played our fun spinner game and the students loved it! We got the most of our word 'how'.
For writing this week we worked on a couple different things. Since we talked about scientists, students wrote about things that scientists learn about and things that they wanted to learn about.
We have also been working on our 100 day books. So far we have done the first 2 pages. Students wrote about 100 things that they could lift and 100 things that they wish they had. We will continue to work on our book to get ready for the 100th Day of School!
Here are just a few examples of the student's work.
This week, we learned about the 3-D shapes sphere, cylinder, cube, and cone.
We found lots of real life examples around our classroom too!
We did a 3-D sorting paper too!
This week, we also worked hard in Literacy Lab! Students worked on their iReady lessons.
Students worked with me on practicing CVC words and making word families.
Students worked with Mrs. Ball on a letter sound picture sort, and telling the difference between tricky letters like b, d, p.
This week we finished reading out book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and we watched the movie!
Our PAX (good behavior program) partner, Mrs. Phillip came to play our PAX game with us this week.
We also celebrated our friend Cameron's birthday with some snacks on Thursday as well but I forgot to get a picture!

Important papers sent home this week:

Information on our Valentine's Day Celebration. Please only have your child write their own name on their Valentine's and do not write names on the 'to' section. This makes it a lot easier for passing them out.
Information on dressing up for our 100th Day of School Celebration on Thursday, February 11th.
Virtual Work Packet for Friday. Please turn in completed work on Monday.
Thanks for stopping by to see the fun things that we have been doing.
Check back next week to see what we are up to next!

Don't forget that your child's 100 Item Collection is due this Thursday, February 4th!
Have a great week!
