Sorting, CVC Work & More!

We had a busy and fun week full of learning! Take a look below to find out more.

Our Focus Wall for the week.
For our math lessons this week, we focused on sorting objects by shape, size, color and count.
Next week we will begin learning about 3-D shapes!
We played a fun game to practice our sight words. We spun the spinner and colored the word that it landed on. We had the most of 'my' and the least of 'with'. The kids loved this game!
We also made this 'My Snowman' book. Students had to read the words, then cut out and glue the matching picture onto each page.
For writing this week, students wrote about what the sky looks like during the daytime as well as at night.
They also did a fun writing activity to go along with the story The Mitten. Students designed their own mitten and then thought about a story about it.
We really worked on sounding out CVC words this week! We started by looking at pictures and marking the beginning sound of each picture.
We also worked on reading the CVC words and then finding the matching picture.
Then we worked on sounding out the CVC words and copying them.
We also worked hard in Literacy Lab this week.
Students worked hard on their iReady lessons!
Students worked with Mrs. Ball to practice letters, letter sounds, and rhyming.
Students worked with me on practicing sight words, making a CVC word ladder, and reading stories.
In art class this week, Mrs. Riley taught students how to use markers to create beautiful peace signs.
We loved getting to play outside in the beautiful weather this week!
We are continuing to read the story Charlie and the Chocolate Factory together as a class and we are almost finished! We will be finishing this week!
Thanks for checking in this week. Stop back next week to see what fun things we are up to next!
Have a great week!

Mrs. Brittany Garrabrant
