Field Day & Last Week of School!

I can't believe the year is already over, it went by so fast! We had such a fun last week together and did so many exciting things. We finished our End of the Year Alphabet Countdown with the letters W-Z, completed our Father's Day book, and participated in a Castle Crushers game. We had a year end auction of things around our classroom, an end of the year assembly, and enjoyed some popsicles! Students also helped me clean out the classroom, we watched our end of the year video and participated in a day full of field day fun!
Take a look below for more details on our awesome week together!

We finished our End of the Year Alphabet Countdown this week. Monday we had Wacky Hair Day!
 Tuesday we had eXtra Recess!
 Wednesday was our Yellow Day!
Thursday was our last day and we "zipped up and zoomed out".
Students finished their books for Father's Day and took them home to share!
On Tuesday, the students participated in a game of Castle Crushers against Mrs. Myers class.
They loved it!
On Wednesday, we had a year end auction of different things around our classroom.
Students got to choose a few of the things that we have made this year to take home as a keepsake.
Mrs. Schieman had a "Send off to First Grade" assembly on Wednesday and she showed a video of pictures from the school year. Students enjoyed seeing themselves and their friends!
She also gave all of the students Diplomas since they have completed Kindergarten.
We enjoyed popsicles outside on a nice warm day!
Wednesday before school Mrs. Schieman chased a goose off of the playground and we thought it was hilarious so I thought I would share it with you!
We also finished reading our Stuart Little 2 book that went along with the movie we watched.
Students also helped me clean out the turntables in our classroom. They got to take home some things that they can use at home this summer such as pencils, erasers, glue sticks, crayons, and colored pencils.
Students enjoyed our end of the year video that I made so much that they asked if we could watch it every day, so we did! I hope they enjoy continuing to watch it and it helps them remember the fun year and memories we made together!
We had such a fun Field Day on Thursday! So many fun activities both outside and inside the school. Take a look below for more details on our fun day!
Students participated in a relay race where they had to balance a ping pong ball on a spoon.
They also did a sponge toss where they took turns tossing sponges into their partners hula hoops.
It was a nice way for them to cool off!
Students enjoyed a snack of popcorn and water.
They also played "Cone Hole" where they had to toss bean bags into the cone. They get 2 points if they get it into the cone and 1 point if they get it inside the hula hoop.
Students also participated in different relay races such as jumping like frogs, crawling, and running.
They also had to balance a tennis ball under their chin, and balance a ball on their head.
They enjoyed playing the game "Mr. Fox".
We also had another sponge relay where students had to race down to the bucket, squeeze the water out of their sponge, race back, and pass it to their partner.
Mrs. Schieman was so nice and got a Kona Ice truck to come and give a snack for the whole school! The students enjoyed getting to pick the flavor that they wanted and it was very yummy!
Thank you Mrs. Schieman!
We spent the afternoon doing different games around the inside of the school. We started with the game "Four Corners" where someone is blindfolded and has to pick a corner, whoever is standing in that corner is out. Keep going until there is only one person left!
 We also did the limbo!
 And a Dance Party!
We also played the "Hide a Key" game where students pass the key around and then someone hides it and a guesser has to guess who they think has it.
Students also did a balloon volley game.
We also had fun with a parachute. They tried to bounce the balls off, took turns running underneath it one at a time, and they all lifted it up then went under and sat on it to make a big tent.
 Scooter Races
Pin Protectors game where students have to protect their pins from frisbees thrown by their peers.
We had such a fun day, thank you to my mom for coming to help for the day!
Walking to the buses for the last time as Kindergarteners this school year!
I also sent home a summer packet and reading challenges for your child to work on this summer. These will help keep your child's brain engaged, help reduce the "summer slide", and help them be prepared for First Grade.
Thanks again for all of your support throughout the school year and for making it such a great year!
I will miss all of the students so much, please come back to visit me!
Have a great summer and good luck next year in First Grade!
