Popsicles, Puzzles & Field Day

Emma's birthday was Thursday and with the weather being so hot, it was a nice day to enjoy some popsicles! The kids really enjoyed their fruit popsicle!
We also watched the third and final Stuart Little movie this week. I was interested to see how the kids would like it since it was an animated movie unlike the first two. They seemed to really enjoy it and it was a nice way to relax in the hot weather we had this week!
We also worked on putting together our puzzles for our end of the year gifts. They wrote their  names, 2014 and kindergarten on their puzzles. We then added their thumb prints. This will be a great keepsake for you and your child so hopefully they will always remember their time with us!
On Friday, we had field day. It was a beautiful day! We all posed together normally and then did a silly picture!
The hula hoop station at field day. The children had to walk around their hula hoop while the music was playing. The volunteers and Mr. Doyle went around and took away some of the hula hoops while they were doing this. If their hoop was taken away, they had to join another student and walk around their hoop with them. When the music stopped, they all had to be inside of the hula hoop. We did many rounds of this until there were a lot of students sharing one hula hoop.
Pom pom races- they had to use popsicle sticks to hit the pom pom along the track. After everyone got one turn we then tried to use our mouth to blow the pom pom along the track to get to the end.
Dance party- we did the Cupid Shuffle and a dance tunnel where two children at a time got to show off their dance moves as they danced along the "tunnel" of their classmates.
We enjoyed popcorn, water and each other's company outside in the beautiful weather!
Bean bag toss- The students took turns with a partner to try and get bean bags in different containers.
Relay races- We raced keeping a tennis ball under their chin, bear crawling, and just running.
Balloon tennis- They used racquets to hit a balloon back and forth.
We had a great week and we have lots of fun things planned for this week as well! I can't believe we only have 7 days of school left!! Our awards and end of the year video is this coming Wednesday, June 4th at 1:30pm. We will be meeting at our classroom and walking down to the Hackett building together. We have worked hard to put together this event and we are looking forward to seeing you all there! Have a great week!
