Spirit Week, Pumpkins, Seeds & More!

We had another busy week this week in Kindergarten. Check out what we have been up to below!

We enjoyed using sidewalk chalk outside this week with the nice weather!
This week was spirit week. Below are some pictures of jersey day, wacky day and pajama day. I forgot to get pictures of Disney day & Red/Black day.
We learned about the letters A, I, T, & J. We have now learned all of our uppercase letters and this week we will be starting on our lowercase letters! We read these books as well as shared some of our writing with our Preschool reading buddies on Friday as well.

We also learned how to spell Black.
We made our alphabet cards for our word wall
Our black mosaic turned out great!
We cut open our pumpkin and took out the pulp and seeds. The students all enjoyed getting their hands dirty and getting to see what it felt like!
Then we separated the pulp from the seeds so we could count them. This was great fine motor practice.
All of our seeds!
We put 10 seeds into a bag to make it easier to count.
We ended up with 605 seeds!
Then we voted on how we wanted our pumpkin to look when we carved it.
After we carved it the students wanted to put a light inside it so we put a fake candle.
We also made a book about pumpkins including labeling the parts of a pumpkin, putting the life cycle in the correct order, and documenting what we learned about pumpkins.
We also made pumpkins by ripping paper for our bulletin board.
Our poster that we created along with our pumpkin pictures are now up on our bulletin board.
They all turned out great!
On Friday we celebrated a friends birthday with some fruit, alphabet animal crackers, and we got to try our pumpkin seeds that I took home and cooked.
Brayden didn't like the pumpkin seeds!
Thanks for stopping by. Check back next week to see what we are up to!
Have a great week!
