On Thursday we had our Family Literacy Night. There were 8 different classrooms in the Preschool and Kindergarten hallways focusing on various children's authors with activities to go along with those authors and books. Each family received a READO board which was a BINGO board full of the 8 authors and rooms. As the families went to the various rooms, they got to mark off the matching boxes on their READO board. At the end of the night, they received a prize if they got a READO marked off on their boards.
We had a great turnout, thanks to everyone who was able to make it!
Here are the students completed Mo Willems character drawings. They did such a great job!
There were plenty of Mo Willems' books displayed for the families to read.
There were activities around the room related to Mo's books such as writing, mazes, coloring pages, drawing the pigeon, etc.
Kala found her drawing!
The students were also able to vote whether they would let the pigeon drive the bus or not by gluing a pigeon above yes or no.
It was pretty even!

Families were also able to visit the book fair and purchase books if they wanted to.
