2018 Goals, Sticker Stories & More!

We had a wonderful week in Kindergarten this week back from Winter Break. We worked on writing goals for the new year, wrote sticker stories, worked hard in Literacy Lab, shared with our Preschool Reading Buddies, worked on a new Teach Town lesson, read lots of fun books and started a new chapter book as a class. Check out below for more details on our fun week!

Since we started a new year, we made goals for 2018. The students chose what they wanted to read, a personal goal, something they wanted to learn, and a new food they wanted to try.
Here are some examples of their goals.
We also worked on making "Sticker Stories". The students chose a sticker that they wanted to use and drew a picture around it. Then they wrote about it. Below are some examples. Amaiya wrote "I like baking cookies".
Eli wrote "I like making a cookie." & Jenna A. wrote "I like to make candy canes.".
In Literacy Lab, students listened to the story "The Snowy Day".
They also worked hard on iReady lessons.
Mrs. Roland worked with students on rhyming words and guided reading.
I also worked with students on guided reading and recognizing sight words.
Mrs. Arnold worked with students on letter sounds & recognizing sight words.
The students shared their 2018 goals & sticker stories with their preschool reading buddies.
Our Teach Town lesson for the week was Speak Up For Yourself.
We read lots of winter and snowman books this week as well as other fun fiction books.
We began reading Mr. Popper's Penguins chapter book together as a class and the students are loving it so far!
Thanks for checking in. Have a great week!

Mrs. Brittany Garrabrant
