Gingerbread and Winter Activities, Snowball Toss & More!

We had a wonderful and fun week before break! We passed off the cafeteria trophy to the next class, participated in some fun gingerbread/winter activities, and dressed up for a spirit week. Students took home their Christmas presents they made for their families, participated in a snowball toss against Miss Riggs class, had a snowman snack with our Preschool Reading Buddies, and more!
Take a look below for more details on our fun week!

Mrs. Scherch's class won the cafeteria trophy for the week so we handed it off to them. Congrats!
This week we did lots of Gingerbread & Winter activities!
First, students graphed different types of gingerbread cookies.
Then they colored the gingerbread house by reading the color words.
Then we sampled gingerbread cookies & graphed as a class where they took their first bite (head, arm or leg). We also did a winter syllable paper together.
 Worked on finishing gingerbread patterns.
We also did a following directions winter activity. I read each sentence/direction and the students colored the appropriate part of the picture.
We also did lots of fun holiday activities in literacy lab this week! One of the things students worked on was a Santa Pete the Cat color by numbers.
We also had a fun Winter themed spirit week to celebrate the week before Christmas break!
I forgot to get a picture Monday of our class with their Winter socks so here is a picture of mine! :)
Tuesday was Candy Cane day. I loved seeing the creative outfits!
Wednesday was Flannel Day.
Thursday was PJ day!
 Friday was Christmas sweater day!
This week the students took home the presents they made for their families. They worked so hard on them so I hope you all loved them! I attached a little poem to the bag and also included a heart shaped crayon that I made for each student using melted crayons.
On Thursday, the students participated in a snowball toss against Miss Riggs class.
They enjoyed this so much and loved getting to go against our friends in Miss Riggs class!
On Friday we met with our Preschool Reading Buddies as always. Mrs. Vogt read the story "The Jacket I Wear in the Snow". Then we made a snowman snack to enjoy and sang some songs with our friends. It was a nice treat and we enjoyed our time with our reading buddies.
I hung up our Gingerbread boys/girls from our Gingerbread Glyph activity on our bulletin board in the hallway and they look great!
Of course we continued to read more Christmas books.
And we watched the movie "The Polar Express".
I sent home a Winter Break Homework packet. It had a part about GoNoodle and how you can use it at home as well as some academic things for you to work on at home. My goal was for you to work with your child for 5-10 minutes a day on things from the packet. Your child can bring their completed packet in after break to choose something from the treasure box!
I forgot to include a picture of our completed color mosaics in the last blog so here they are!
They turned out so beautiful!
Thanks for stopping by. Have a great rest of your holiday break!
I will see your child back at school on Monday, January 7th!
