Animal Book & More!

We had a busy and fun week before Spring Break!
Take a look below to find out more about our exciting week!

Our Focus Wall for the week
We worked hard on practicing our sight words this week!
As always, the kids enjoyed our sight word spinner game! Our sight word 'she' won!
We have been working so hard on CVC words and this week we read this CVCE book and tried to figure out different CVCE words such as cake, gate, tape, bike, etc.
We also practiced counting by 10's and we filled in the missing numbers.
For our math lessons, we continued to work on subtraction this week.
They are getting so good at taking away!
Like always we worked hard in Literacy Lab this week too.
Students worked with me on sorting words with different blends like 'dr, fr, cr, br".
We also practiced guided reading and answering questions about what we read.
Students worked independently on practicing sight words, letter sorts, and other literacy activities.
Students worked with Mrs. Ball to practice sight words and CVC words.
They also worked hard on their iReady lessons as well!
We finished reading our chapter book Mr. Popper's Penguins so we watched the movie.
Students enjoyed comparing the book and movie to each other and discussed things that were the same and things that were different between the two. The students really enjoyed the movie!
As I explained to you all at conferences, we are going to be publishing an animal book through the company StudentTreasures. The students have been working so hard on our book and I will be mailing everything out to be published next Friday, April 9th!
We are so excited for you to see our finished product!
This is the order form that I gave you all at conferences or sent home with your child's report card. If you would like to order a copy of our animal book, please send your filled out form with payment (or the code if you ordered online) by Friday, April 9th.
I will be shipping everything out Friday after school so you will not be able to order after that!
Students worked so hard on their iReady lessons this week and they passed the goal I gave to them!
So they got to choose a prize from the treasure box.
We enjoyed getting to play outside this week and hope the warm weather stays!
Thanks for checking in this week. I missed the kids so much!
I can't wait to see them on Monday and hear all about their Spring Break adventures!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
Mrs. Brittany Garrabrant
