Week of September 27th

We had such a busy week full of learning and fun! Take a look below to see more details.

Students turned in their September homework and reading logs.
Then they got to choose prizes from the treasure box.
I sent home the homework and reading log for October.
Every month, students will work in their Kindergarten portfolio to document what they know and their growth in various areas such as letters, numbers, shapes, etc.
These will be shared with you at conferences and the students will take them home at the end of the school year.
In Literacy Lab, students worked so hard this week! We reviewed the letters T & P that we already learned. Students worked with me and read books about each letter, completed picture sorts, and letter sorts.
Students worked with Mrs. Ball to also read books and complete activities to review the letters T & P.
Ms. Stewart worked with students to practice writing the letters and sight words.
Students worked hard on their iReady lessons.
We also learned the letter Nn this week.
And the letter Ff.
We learned the sight words; like, have, you.
This week we learned the color orange.
We learned about 5 new friends when they shared their treasure blocks.
For our math lessons, students practiced counting and writing numbers.
We also worked on the shape triangle.
On Friday, we went on a field trip to Learning Tree Farm. The students were excited to get to ride the bus.
We had so much fun! Take a look below to find out more about our fun field trip.
We got to explore in the garden and even taste some of the yummy vegetables that they were growing!
We found a grasshopper in the garden and saw the chewed up leaves that it ate.
Students got to sit on saddles and do a rope swing.
They loved exploring all of the animals they have at their farm. They had sheep, horse, cows, pigs, goats, and chickens. The chickens were by far their favorite and they enjoyed getting to hold them, they were all so brave!
We went on a hike to a tire swing which the students enjoyed as well. We even saw deer tracks!
We had lunch at the farm as well!
The students did an obstacle course and got to choose a pumpkin to take home.
When we returned to school, students documented their favorite part from the field trip. These documentation papers went into their portfolios.
Thanks for stopping by. Check back next week to see what we are up to next.
