Week of March 14th

We had a great week full of learning and fun! Take a look below for more details.

We finished going back through the alphabet to review the letters and letter sounds this week.
We did Vv-Zz this week.
We learned about the sight words under & into.
We continued to work on our subtraction unit and writing number problems to practice taking away.
We also worked hard in Literacy Lab this week!
The students worked hard on their iReady lessons even though we didn't meet our goal this week.
Students worked independently to do letter sorts, practice sight words, and make CVC words.
Students worked with Mrs. Ball to practice sight words and guided reading.
Students worked with me on long/short vowel sounds, making CVC words, and word ladders.
We also practiced counting on from different numbers.
To celebrate St. Patricks Day, we enjoyed some lucky charms. Students sorted the different marshmallows they had in their snack and then they ate them!
We read a leprechaun book that had lots of sight words in it!
We also made a rainbow out of ripped paper to hang on our bulletin board. Below is the example I showed the students along with a few pictures of them working. I can't wait to hang them up and show them to you all at conferences next week!
We wear green to say Happy St. Patrick's Day!
Since we watched the movie Stuart Little, we are reading this little chapter book that goes along with the movie exactly. We will finish it next week and start a new book after Spring Break!
We enjoyed playing outside in the nice warm weather this week!
Mr. Doyle put out some new playground balls for us to use as well. They loved it!
Thanks for checking in. Come back next week to see what we are up to next.

Have a great week.
Mrs. Brittany Garrabrant
